Girls XC Compete At the Kaneland Invite

The Belvidere North Girls Cross Country team traveled to Kaneland High School last Saturday morning to take on the Kaneland – Larry Eddington XC Invitational. The meet started with the open race with the team taking 2nd overall in the open with finishes, 17th, 18th, 28th, 32nd, 37th, 40th, 51st, 72nd, 83rd, 84th, 86th, 95th, 101th, and 108th.

The team had a very solid performance, and are looking good so far this season. The varsity team ran next with the team finishing 9th overall, with a top performance of 17th from Junior: Alyssa Pryor. The rest of the team finished with placements of 53rd, 54th, 75th, 76th, and 79th. The team is having a pretty good season so far and are looking forward to finishing the season strong. The meet finished with the fresh/soph race with the team finishing 4th overall. With placements of 8th, 20th,23rd,26th,41st, 68th and 70th. Looking forward to a very good future with these young runners.

I interviewed runner Madison Lerner about the race and here’s what she had to say about it “I am so glad I beat Lauren Key. Just Kidding! It was a very good competitive race and was a good challenge. 10/10 would recommend.” The season is about midway through the and the overall team looks very good so far and are looking for a nice end to the season with conference coming up here very soon. The team is looking forward to it and sending some runners to Regionals and hopefully Sectionals.
