Actor Robbie Coltrane who was born on March 30, 1950, died at the age of 72 on October 14, 2022. Robbie played really well-loved Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter films. He died at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, his Britsh Agent Belinda Wright of 40 years said that Mr. Coltrane’s family had not disclosed a cause but he has been “unwell for some time.” Robbie suffered from Osteoarthritis in later life. Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that occurs when flexible tissue at the ends of bones wears down. He was in consent pain all day in 2016 and in 2019 he employed a wheelchair. He has been ill for two years prior before his death.Robbie went off from comic to gritty in a four-decade career in film and television. He had played an antihero on “Cracker” (1993-96) a K.G.B agent who turned ally to James Bond in two films, and a gangster who disguised himself as a nun after betraying his fellow criminals from the comedy “Nuns on the Run” (1990) but these roles did little to help Mr. Coltrane to play fan favorite character Hagrid from the “Harry Potter” books to the big screen with tons of high expectations from millions of readers.Successfully, Robbie was able to play Hagrid the groundskeeper at Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardtely in all eight Harry Potter movies. Ms. Wright said that the role was the reason he received a “stream of letters every week for over 20 years.” Fans really loved Hagrid, he even made it as South Dakota’s favorite character in the State out of all Harry Potter characters. I asked student Autumn Cooper at North how she thought about actor Robbie Coltrane’s death, she replied, “I just think it’s really sad because I grew up with him in my childhood, watching the movies he was in, and he was a very funny actor to watch.”
