Shakespeare Play with a Twist

Shakespeare Play with a Twist

Belvidere North’s theater department just finished up their show, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was shown on November fourth and fifth, and many students have feedback on this play. The play was a Shakespear play, with a Harry Style twist on it, while it was changing the original writing of Shakespear, many say it still turned out great. They had to put a twist on it due to copyright. Gianna Dean was working backstage, with lights, really helping put the play together, here’s what she has to say, ̈It was okay, I saw the bad and good working with lights, they could have been better though. I feel like they were kind of board with the show, overall it was good, could have been better, but good ̈The show had some good, and bad feedback. The bad feedback were kids saying things like, ̈The Harry Styles twist was too much for Shakespear, there were too many Harry songs ̈ and for good feedback people said, ̈Other than the Harry Styles twist, it was pretty good, ̈I wanted to get a few more perspectives on the show, so I asked another crew mate how it was working backstage, Alex Venesuala, a sophomore at Belvidere North, said, ̈It was okay, it was tiring but the people there were pretty cool ̈Overall, I think students feel there could be some changes in the play, but clearly it wasn’t horrible. Changing up aShakespear play definitely bugged some students, but our first show of the year wasn’t too bad! Make sure to keep a lookout for Winterbreak, our next play for Belvidere North. Auditions will be held November 30th and December 1st!
