“The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” turned into “The Tonight show starring Ariana Grande” on Tuesday, May 1st. Ariana was the only guest for the full hour of the late night show which was trending on twitter on Wednesday with the hashtag #arianaonfallon. On the show Grande performed a sketch called No Big Deal and her newest song “No Tears Left To Cry.” She addressed the 2017 bomb attack during one of her concert but made it possible to brighten up by announcing the name of her new album.

Before the show, Grande and fallon surprised fans who thought they were doing a cover video for one of her songs, “One Last Time.” As fans performed, Grande and Fallon appeared from behind a black curtain and greeted her fans. The fans laughed and shrieked upon seeing the singer. Grande praised her fans telling them “You sounded great” and “That was amazing” to the shocked fans.

During the show she announced the name of her fourth studio album which will be called “Sweetener.” She stated that “It’s kind of about bringing light to the situation or to someone’s life or somebody else who brings light to your life, sweetening the situation.” Songs included in the new album will be “Raindrops, “Sweetener,’’ “The Light,’’ “R.E.M.’’ and “God Is A Woman.” The album will be released July 20th.

“I don’t listen to Ariana Grande’s music that often but this song is definitely a bop. If this is the representation of her upcoming album, we can expect good things,” said Yasmine Vizguerra (‘20).

On May 20th she will be performing at the Billboard Music Awards on NBC. Actually she will be doing something special on the 20th of every month until her album is released on July 20th.

Fallon also read out loud part of Ariana’s online essay about the Manchester bombing. “We won’t let hate win. Our response to this violence must be to come closer together and to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before.”

Ariana then performed her newest single “No Tears Left To Cry’’ toward the end of the show, her first release since the bomb attack. She debuted the song and video on April 20th.
