Here are some quick, easy, and cheap hacks to make life a little bit easier.

  • If you have your hair up in a ponytail and you have those little annoying flyaways, take a clean toothbrush and spray some hairspray on it. Then brush back the flyaways with the toothbrush.
  • Want to make your shoes waterproof? Buy a thing of beeswax and rub it all over your shoes. Then use a hair dryer to dry it until you can’t see it anymore and you’ve got waterproof shoes.
  • Keep a handwritten card in your wallet with your name, medical information, address, and emergency numbers in case of an emergency.
  • When you’re taking a picture, squint your eyes to make the smile seem more genuine.
  • Use a spring from an old pen at the base of your charging cord to keep it from bending or breaking.
  • Have a warm drink that you want cold? Wrap a wet paper towel around it and put it in the freezer. In about 15 minutes it will be ice cold.
  • If you have bad-smelling shoes, place a few dry tea bags inside each shoe to absorb the smell.
  • Having trouble starting your fire? Use chips. The fat, oil, and chemicals in chips make them perfect fire-starting material.
  • If you are sick, don’t worry about cough syrup. Pineapple juice is five times more effective than cough syrup and it also helps to prevent colds and the flu.
  • Did you get permanent marker on something that it isn’t supposed to be on? If it’s on clothes, get it out with hand sanitizer. On wood, use rubbing alcohol, and on walls use toothpaste or hairspray. On carpet, use white vinegar. On furniture, use milk. On a whiteboard use a pencil eraser, and on ceramic or glass, use one part toothpaste with one part baking soda.
  • An easy way to clean a blender after making a smoothie or milkshake: Put soap and water in the blender and whirl it around. Rinse it and you’re ready to make another!
  • If you get a lot of headaches, grape juice can be used to relieve them.
  • You can remove blood stains from clothes with Coca-Cola.
  • Adding vodka to your shampoo can strengthen your hair, prevent dry scalp, and stop dandruff.
  • Use curtain shower hooks in your closet to organize your bags.
  • If you love iced coffee, pour freshly made coffee into an ice tray and freeze it. Add this to your iced coffee instead of regular ice to keep it from watering down.
  • Wanna hide money in your purse? Hide it in a pad wrapper, no one will steal it then.
  • You can use a piece of floss to perfectly cut a cake.
  • If you are scared you’re gonna hit your fingers while hammering a nail into the wall, use a clothespin to keep it in place.
  • Putting your phone on airplane mode allows you to play games and videos without having to stop all the time to watch ads.
  • A bowl with a little oil in it attracts mosquitoes and keeps them away from you.
