It’s the start of a new school year and that means Homecoming is right around the corner. The annual tradition of the boy asking the girl does still go on today, but lately you haven’t been seeing it as much. In past years you would see Homecoming proposals happening almost everyday, but this year it’s different. Students haven’t been publicly asking their dates, maybe it’s because of the new digital age or the new rule changes this year. Now a days everyone just snapchats people and asks them that way or will post something on their story saying they need a date. Our generation is brainwashed by the technology. We see it in our everyday lives but now its transitioning into our dating lives.

In the past, however, the most traditional ways to ask a girl would be by making a sign and writing a catchy phrase on it that asks her to be your date. For example someone could write ̈can you picture us at hoco” and on the sign put pictures of the two of them. This is the most commonly used way. Another way to ask someone if your feeling a little extra is to buy candles and spell out hoco or hc and wait to surprise your date with the proposal. This will get you a for sure yes!

Bringing food to surprise your date is also always a good idea, you can never go wrong with that.  If you don’t like any of these you can simply just ask your date in person to go with you. This is the easiest and most efficient way to get a girl to go with you because it shows her that you really care and truly want to go with her.
