The Chicago Cubs have had a rough second half of the MLB season.  For the past couple years we saw a Cubs team that nobody had seen in a while.

The Chicago Cubs are currently ranked 3rd in the NL Central division.  The Cubs record is 84- 78 and have a win percentage of .519. They are 7.2 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers, as the cubs are already out of the playoffs.

Major news for the Cubs was the separation of the organization their former manager Joe Maddon.  So the Cubs are currently in search of a manager. A popular opinion and choice for the manager position is the former Chicago Cubs catcher and a World Series Champion, David Ross. The organization is currently open for trade, as they say.  As many rumors are saying that the Cubs are going to go through a rebuilding process, but Theo Epstein said “We have no intention of rebuilding, just retooling.” Another manager rumor is Joe Girardi from the Yankees staff.

So the Cubs will be looking to make transactions this off-season, whether their making trades or looking to make a deal through free agency.  As the Cubs have a lot of valuable players that will be good for trading, some of those players that can possibly be looked at for a trade are Kris Bryant and Wilson Contreras. But the Cubs may lose Nicholas Castellanos as he enters free agency.

A problem the Chicago Cubs have had in the past was their inability to develop pitching prospects.  As it has been said that the Cubs have lost approximately $126 million.

Some good news is that Anthony Rizzo is looking to sign an extension with the Cubs.  The Chicago Cubs are going through a process that they feel is necessary to succeed in future years.
