The 2019-20 boys bowling season started on October 28 and the team is made of about 26 bowlers.  Coming strong into the season this year is returning varsity bowler Nole Hefty (‘21), Cal Taylor (‘20), and Jacob Hodge (‘20). North also has some promising freshmen in Thomas Moran, Matthew Sawtell, Nathan Perkins and Asher Hefty. North came in firing at all cylinders having their first week of practice with Asher Hefty bowling a 298. Hefty and the team have hopes that he can do that in match play.

In 2018 North finished in 5th place in the conference. They expect to do more this year having a deeper depth chart with the mass amount of freshmen.

The bowling team is expected to go places this year due to the high numbers and the, more experienced staff.

Tuesday, November, 12 is the team’s first meet. It is against Huntley high school coach Glennon’s thoughts are as follows. ”I think of Huntley as one of our stronger non-conference rivals — Huntley and Marengo. I like to compare our kids to programs like ours, the programs that are not state and national super-powers like Hononegah and Harlem. I like the success we have against these schools, and it shows that our program is on the right track. Huntley gives us an early opportunity to see where we stand, and the match allows us to gain more experience before we start our conference schedule after Thanksgiving. I thank Mr. Flynn for keeping Huntley on our schedule.”

The season will be a great one boys “roll Thunder”
