Welcome back for your 2019-20 NBA season update –  teams and some players are already pushing for an NBA title. It’s still early but teams are either performing and winning for a good playoff spot in their conference or teams are just playing young ball and developing their young players. It may look rough  because they aren’t winning games, but they are building a chemistry together that will be able to last for awhile. There are not that many injuries this year; yet, Still some key players healing from injuries last year. Paul Goroge is set to make his first start as a Clipper this Thursday against the Pelicans.

The Eastern Conference is starting to shape up and the leader in the East right now is the Boston Celtics at 8-1. They have the best record in the league right now and are on an eight game winning streak. For second place in the East there is a four team tie with 76ers, Bucks, Heat, and Raptors at 7-3.  Boston did lose small forward Gordan Hayward for 3-4 months due to a fractured hand. Our city team, Chicago Bulls, are right now 11th in conference and have a record of 4-7. The Bulls still have plenty of time left for their season to change, but they would need to make it to the top eight to be in the playoffs. The New York Knicks are still at the bottom in the East with a 2-9 record and are currently 15th in the East.

In the Western conference at the top are the L.A. Lakers who are currently ranked first at 8-2. They were on a seven game hot streak but that was ended by the Phoenix Suns.  In second place in the West is the Utah Jazz which are shocking most fans with their 8-3 record and a four-game winning streak. There are three teams with a tie with the same record for third place and they all share the same record of 7-3  – the teams are Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, and the Denver Nuggets. The Golden State Warriors are now at the bottom in the West and are also on a four game losing streak with a record of 2-9 in 15th place. Hopefully when Stephen Curry is fully healed he is able to help turn the team around before the playoffs start.
