The Belvidere North baseball team is coming off a great season finishing 2nd in conference last year with a 13-5 in conference record  and 20-9 overall. They have a lot of key seniors coming back, such as cousin duo Holden and Mikey Paddock, Carson Blatchford, Caleb Andre, and Connor McGuire. Juniors Jake Tapia, Preston Gonzalezez, and Matt Redner look to be key attributions as well. Tapia already having starting experience looks to be dominant at the plate.

Last year the team only lost a few seniors, so with all of their key players coming back they are looking to make a run at first place in conference and a push at state. “The boys are looking sharp in practice, it should be a fun year,” said five year head coach John Paddock.

At the plate the Paddock cousins look to hit for high averages and power. They both have a very good chance to be All-Conference players this season. Mason Weckler (‘22), Jake Tapia (‘21), and Paddock (‘20) look to lead the team on the mound. North players have dedicated their off-season to the weight room and speed and agility and it has shown in the early gym days of the season.

The Thunder season is currently suspended until March 28 because of the CoronaVirus. The teams have continued to practice and wait for more words. Hopefully this all clears up soon so the team can get on with their season. Lets Go Thunder!
