MLB Postseason

October 19, 2020
The 2020 MLB postseason has been an exciting one so far. Kicking off on Tuesday, Sep 29 the first game featured the 2017 world series champion Astros and a good-looking Twins team. That game ended in a four to one win for the Astros. The first round consisted of a lot of exciting and close games with the biggest win being a 12-3 win for the Yankees over the Indians. The hometown Cubs went into the postseason after having a good year and hoping to recreate the 2016 playoffs. They faced off against a surprising Marlins squad losing game one 5-1. When the second game came around it got postponed to in bad weather and was made up on Friday, Oct 2 with the cubs losing that one 2-1. The second round got off to a hot start on Tuesday, Oct 6 with the Braves beating the Marlins 9-5. The AL/NLDS was much of the same with many close games with the biggest win being a 12-3 for the Dodgers over the Padres to win the series 3-0. The Astros who have become the most hated team in baseball after people found out they cheated to win the 2017 world series took the series home 3-1 over the Oakland A’s. The AL/NLCS has also been very entertaining so far. The Rays are taking on the Astros in the AL and the Dodgers are taking on the Braves in the NL. The Braves got off to a hot start winning games one and two 5-1, and 8-7 respectively. On the AL side of things, The Rays got off to a 3-0 start over the Astros after winning 2-1, 4-2, and 5-2. Game three for the Braves was the opposite of what people may have suspected would happen. The Dodgers got seven hits and eleven runs in the first leading to a 15-3 throttling of the Braves. Game four in the AL was also a good and unexpected one with the Astros finally getting a 4-3 win after three close game losses. Overall this postseason has been very good and can all expect a good World Series as well to crown the 2020 MLB champions.
